VIKSAT was established in 1977, as an institution of the NFD, Ahmedabad. VIKSAT, engaged in the promotion of participatory management of natural resources, believes that goal of sustainability in natural resources development and management can be achieved through decisive participation of the local communities aided by the enabling role of the Government agencies. VIKSAT is implementing sustainable Natural Resource Management (NRM) and livelihood activities currently through its four field offices in five districts of Gujarat. VIKSAT is looking for a young and dynamic Civil Engineers who will be responsible for the promotion and strengthening of the people institutions in the project areas of Gujarat.

Job Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Education: A graduate degree in Civil Engineering in Rural Management or a closely related field.
Professional Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of professional work experience.
Adaptability: Willingness to work in challenging conditions, demonstrating a strong commitment to the quality of work.
Transportation: Proficiency in operating two-wheeler vehicles.
Technical Skills: Comfortable with computer applications and proficient in using the internet.
Language Proficiency: Gujarati and Hindi are essential, and proficiency in English is desirable.
Job Description:
• Plan, design, and oversee the construction of Water Resource projects, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with Government Norms.
• Conduct structural analyses and site inspections to ensure projects meet safety standards and design specifications.
• Estimate project costs and manage budgets, selecting appropriate materials and ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
• Collaborate with funding agencies, contractors, and government officials to coordinate project activities and achieve successful outcomes.
• Implement safety measures, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, reports, and progress updates.
• Collaborate with local government and community stakeholders to develop and implement natural resource management initiatives at the village level.
• Stay updated with the latest engineering techniques, software, and industry standards, and engage in continuous learning and professional development.
Salary: The selected candidate will receive a monthly consolidated salary ranging from 25,000 to 30,000, based on qualifications and relevant experience, while also considering equity within the organization. The initial appointment will be for a fixed term of one year, with potential for extension based on performance. The position involves fieldwork and travel, and candidates should be prepared to travel as needed.
